"Water for Daddy and Flowers for Mother"

Oil on Canvas

"Water for Daddy and Flowers for Mother" is an early painting that tells the story of a little girl bringing water to her father in the field. Some of the wildflowers that will be plowed under are instead picked and put into the remaining water to take back to her mother. The setting for the painting was also the setting for the movie "Far and Away", which was partially filmed just outside of Billings, Montana. Loren used his youngest daughter as a model for the young girl.
